(An Inspiration to Canadian Photographers, at Eighty)

I think a creative life helps keep us young, or at least mentally-flexible-as-if-young.

This portrait is a commemoration of Walter's entry into the Over-Eighty Club. I have to say that because I don't think anyone would know it from the picture!

Walter says he spent that time putting food on his family's table. In reality he was laying the groundwork for a future generation of photographers in Canada. Without even knowing it, people like me have been standing on his shoulders for many years.

Walter's work centers on music and musicians. His decades-long portrait of Glenn Gould, as a visual explication of the person at the piano, stands next to Gould's recordings.
