I consider it very important to use portraiture to follow people.

I am a family history stalker.

For future generations to know us, and to know ourselves in the future, we must record ourselves as we change. The most obvious application is the portraiture of babies and young people. People take it for granted that their children should have their pictures taken as they grow.

We grow as adults, too. We all know the feeling we get visiting the doctor or dentist: 'wow - he's changed since I was here last. I must have too!'.

Following these changes in people is something I consider very important to do with portraiture.
